DAY 5 (raven)


Today's prompt called for a little imagination. As these two critters would be diabolically opposed. Both are opportunistic omnivores and given half the chance, would take each other out for dinner! I would much rather see them in their elements, crossing paths, but not staying long.

Part negative exposure, I took advantage of the wonderful black silhouette. A Pentel brush-pen was used for the raven, technical pens for the rest - and a little in the wing tips. Evening skyline was finished with white ink - something I've been meaning to try.

I'm happy to report, as long as you shake the bottle really well, the white is opaque rather than translucent, over black ink.

 DAY 6 (spirit) This was a fusion of Asian brushes and technical pens. When I think of Spirit and turtle, I'm reminded what I was told a lot as a youngster - to come out of my shell! Like the real critters though, it's not something you can force. It only happens when good and ready, then whole new world opens up to explore.

  DAY 10: (pick) I chose a plectrum with a simplified turtle emblem. Black, Teal and Magenta Inks, with a gold, gel-pen for embellishments. I was starting to see in black and white, with all these monochrome illustrations. So just wanted to a add more colour and variety, for a change.

DAY 12 (stuck) Now Christmas is over, I have the time to continue sharing the rest of my Inktober prompts. It's the last day of 2021, and I couldn't have picked a more perfect image to share. For my life has been turned on it's head, with a relationship suddenly ending, that I wasn't expecting to.
